| Program Description | | Cranial-sacral Massage | The craniosacral system is made up of cerebrospinal fluid and membranes or connective tissue (also called fascia) that surround the brain and spinal cord. This fluid flows rhythmically (called the craniosacral pulse) and that this rhythm can be monitored and manipulated. Cranial-sacral massage is a very gentle therapy that improves physical, mental and emotional health by freeing restrictions of movement of in the craniosacral system. Light direct pressure is applied to relax the targeted areas within the head-sacrum corridor thereby restoring natural flow of energy to reinstate physical, emotional and mental well-being. | | Swedish Massage | Swedish Massage utilizes long, flowing strokes, often to increase circulation and blood flow. Oil, cream, or lotion is applied on the skin to reduce friction and allow smooth strokes.There are six basic strokes: effluerage, friction, tapotment, petrissage, compression and vibration. Deep Tissue Massage Deep tissue massage techniques are designed for more focused massage, working on a specific muscle, joint or muscle group. Starting superficially and easing into the depth of the muscle slowly often allows more movement.
